Lest anyone think for even a second that I’m somehow a fan of Nicky Hilton, let me start this blog post by saying no. no. no.
But when she married Brit’s James Rothschild in London this weekend… well, I had to at least look at the photos, right? From an Anglo-American perspective? You’re curious, too?
Here are some of the photos …
Now don’t we all feel better for having seen these?
Well, I apologize for the dormancy of the blog these past weeks. It’s been a whirlwind of activity in June. Let’s see … the kids got out of school, I had a birthday, our French friend’s teenage daughter came to stay with us for three weeks to learn English and experience a slice of Murica, we took a vacation in San Diego … whirlwind, I tell you.
But I’ve compiled my top 5 bits that I would have blogged had I eked out a little more time to do so:
2. Princess Charlotte’s christening. And more importantly, comedic riffs on Prince George’s outfit.
3. This transformation of Kings Cross in celebration of Wimbledon.
5. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, cursing the photographer, during the 75th anniversary event commemorating the Battle of Britain.
I just spotted this commercial on NBC — Red Nose Day is coming stateside! May 21! I’m curious to see how something like this will work in the US. Red Nose Day will benefit 12 charities (like Save the Children, Boys & Girls Clubs and the United Way) to help kids out of poverty.
Well, I just have to gloat for a moment … I really can’t believe that I nailed two of the three names for the new princess!
Exciting news and a lovely name for a gorgeous little girl!
(And you can get your own royal baby name generator – mine is Queen Tynnifer Mansfield! Very regal!)
Congratulations to Prince William and Princess Kate on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter! And welcome to the world to the still-to-be-named new royal princess!
A quick 60-second recap of this monumental day!
Bookies are already betting that her name will be Alice or Charlotte… I’m guessing it will be more traditional like Elizabeth, perhaps with Diana as one of her middle names. Only time will tell! What do you think?
Those of you in the U.K. right now must be enjoying the quality of peaceful sleep that only comes when you haven’t had the misfortune of moving the clocks forward. Tell me. Is it as amazing as I remember it? Alright, I get it. Must you gloat?!
Those of us stateside have been in a fog this week – extras in “The Walking Dead” – since the time change.
Brits move their clocks forward one hour on March 29 this year. Until then, please enjoy the next couple of weeks for us Americans. And on that note, here are the 8 Worst Things about Daylight Savings Time.
This bit by British comedian Russell Howard made me LOL. Enjoy.
Ah, congrats to the lovely Will and Kate on news of baby #2!
Now might be a good time to place some bets. What do you think? Girl or boy?
I think the last go-round, I was pretty psychically sure that it would be a girl (and then was clearly so wrong). This time, well, I’m going to do the reverse and say it will be a boy. A boy named Hugh, in fact. Or Lucien. Or perhaps Joffrey. (Maybe I’ve been watching too much “Game of Thrones.”)
What do you think? And what’s the latest royal name going to be this time?
