British men try high heels for a day

This I love …

(This video reminds me of a pair of black patent leather heels, which were gorgeous in theory – less so, when I walked around Tin Man-style around the office, not unlike these brave souls. The shoes remain in my closet and that is where they will stay.)

Skort season

Boden Jersey Skort

Ah, I love a good skort. It’s literally the mullet (well, in the best possible sense of the word!) of the fashion world – skirt on the outside, shorts on the inside.

Boden has done a nice jersey skort ($32) this season that brings back childhood memories of summer. Sweet prints, easy to wear and requires no major ironing. Sizes range from kids 1 1/2 – 12.

Now if they could only make these for adults.

I love this iconic design by Tom Trager – and pleased to see it is available to buy on T-shirts and hoodies via RedBubble.com. The company uses American Apparel brand and you can choose from a spectrum of colors for $25.52.

(Tom Trager also does some other fun designs featuring Monty Python, “Sherlock” and “Doctor Who.“)

British people are always coming up with genius ideas. Case in point: The Drinksbag, which goes on sale today. They are £44.95 for launch price. Unfortunately they can’t ship internationally until next year, but Brits can get them now.

J. Crew adds new London stores

J.Crew Runway Fall 2013

Look out! J.Crew is hitting the U.K. hard this fall, with plans to open three new stores in London.

* A men’s boutique will be unveiled Oct. 10 in a 19th Century townhouse on Lambs Conduit Street in Bloomsbury.

* A women’s J.Crew shop will open in Brompton Cross in West London in early November. This store will feature the pricier J.Crew Collection line as well as some of its partner brands like Comme des Garçons and Penelope Chilvers.

* A J.Crew store on Regent Street is also already in the works, with plans to open in November.

These stores are the first J.Crew locations outside North America!

Issa London collection at Banana Republic

Don’t miss the Issa London collection now at Banana Republic. Its line of wrap dresses is very Princess of Cambridge in style and includes an affordable version of Ms. Middleton’s royal blue engagement dress from 2010. Sweet!

Hunter ‘Rigley’ Rain Boots

Hunter Rigley Boot

I love early access to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale! Check out these Hunter ‘Rigley’ Rain Boots on sale for $119.90, regularly priced $195. They come in Dark Ruby and Black.

Nordstrom cardholders can get a jump on the savings until tomorrow. Then the sale opens up to the public! Get ’em while the getting’s good!

Charles Dickens Book Clutch

A Tale of Two Cities Book Clutch

I cannot help loving Kate Spade’s book clutches. See how she transforms “A Tale of Two Cities” by Charles Dickens into a stylish clutch, with an interior zip pocket and room for 12 credit cards? It’s priced at $325 and is utterly perfection.

And if Charles Dickens isn’t your bag, check out “Emma” by Jane Austen. Same treatment in a pale pink clutch!
